Badarpur Energy Private Company (BEPL) is a Company incorporated as a private company in February 2005. Barak Valley Cements Limited has acquired its 100 % stake in the year 2005-06. Badarpur Energy Private Limited has a 6.00 MW biomass based Power Plant near our work site, at Badarpurghat for power generation. The distinct feature of this plant is that this unit uses husk, major by-product of rice industry as a fuel for generating power.
Meghalaya Minerals & Mines Limited (MMML) was originally incorporated as a private limited company in March 2000. The status of the company has been changed to Public Limited in August 2006. It became 100% subsidiary of BVCL on 31.03.2006. MMML is sole supplier of Lime Stone, the main raw material for producing cement for our company.
Meghalaya Minerals & Mines Limited has set up Limestone Crushing and galvanized plant at Lumshnong, Meghalaya for the crushing, segregation and homogenization of Lime Stone at Lumshnong, Distt. Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya.
Presently BVCL is procuring its entire requirement of limestone from Mines held by Meghalaya Minerals & Mines Limited. The crushing unit of the company breaks and reduces the size of limestone boulder from 300 m/m to 75 m/m, and thereafter it is further reduced to 15 m/m through close circuit secondary crushing unit. Pieces above the size of 300 m/m are hand broken at Meghalaya Minerals & Mines Limited.
Cement International Limited (CIL) was formed in May 2000. BVCL has acquired 100% stake in CIL in the financial year 2005-06 and consequently CIL has become wholly owned subsidiary of BVCL. In order to take the advantage of the increasing demand for cement in the north eastern region, Cement International Limited has a 300TPD Cement Grinding unit at Jhoom Basti, Badarpur Ghat, Dist. Karimganj, Assam. The entire production of Cement International Limited is marketed under our brand name ‘Valley Strong Cement” and under the same dealership arrangement.
The production site of CIL is strategically located near the work site of our company and close to the NH-44, which is the main supply line for the Tripura, Mizoram and Barak Valley of Assam. The site is well connected by Road and close to the Badarpur Railway station which can be utilized for carrying of raw materials and finished goods.
Soon after taking over the sick unit in a very deplorable condition by BVCL, management have chalked out Vision Plan for undertaking following plantation in planned manner:-
Getting encouraged from the past working & achievement of last 24 month plantation, our Management have decided to setup most modern online Tea processing unit at Goombira Tea Estate which is expected to be in operation by 1st week of July 2012.
Company have made available enough farm machineries and equipment to fasten the progress of quality/ quantity of work.
Considering the above submission, we are hopeful to turn this sick unit into a most qualitative/quantitative unit to match with the present time.
Valley Strong Cements (Assam) Limited (VSCL) is a Company incorporated as a Public Limited Company in August 2009. Barak Valley Cements Limited (BVCL) has acquired its 100% stake on March 31, 2011. VSCAL has a proposed project of manufacturing Ordinary Portland Cement, Pozzolona Portland Cement and Cement Clinker. The plant capacity of production will be 2000 Tonnes per day i.e. 6.60 Lac Tones per annum.
Considering the market prospects for Portland cement and availability of major raw materials at door steps in the north east region, VSCL have proposed to set up a cement manufacturing unit at Jhoom Basti, Debendra Nagar, Badarpurghat, Distt. Karimganj, Assam. The proposed project will serve the need of cement in the Barak Valley, its adjoining areas in Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and rest of the Assam.
